  • How do I create a Self-Match account?

If you register as a Visitor, you will not have an account per say. Self-Match will store the information you’ve entered in the registration form so you could conveniently log in every time you want to send a survey. If you want to change the email you are using, you will have to re-register with the new email address. If you want to change any other details, please email us at support@self-match.com.

  • How do I create a survey?

After you make a choice of Simple or Advanced survey, you will be taken to the Self-Match Question Bank. Click on a picture of any Question Category. This will open a list of available questions. Choose questions that you want to add to your survey by clicking inside the checkboxes. Then click Add to Survey. You will see a page with the selected questions. If you want to add questions from other categories, click Add Questions from Question Bank and repeat the steps. When you are satisfied with your survey, click Submit Survey.

  • How do I remove questions from my survey?

Select a question by clicking the checkbox and click Remove Questions.

  • Can I change my answers?

Yes, but only until you click the Submit button.

  • How do I send my survey?

After you have created your survey, you have to answer all the questions and then click Send Survey. Fill in the Submission Form by entering your partner’s name, email address and a message (optional). Click Send Survey to My Partner. Your survey will be sent after your payment is accepted.

  • How many surveys can I send as a Visitor?

You can send one free Simple survey upon your registration; after that you can send as many surveys as you want but you will have to make one-time payments for each purchase.

  • My partner didn’t take my survey. Can I get my money back?

Unfortunately, not. Self-Match doesn’t issue refunds if your partner doesn’t cooperate. Think of it this way: if you bought a book and gave it to your friend as a birthday present and your friend never read the book, will you get a refund? We recommend that you check with your partner first if he or she wants to engage in the compatibility research with you. In contrast, if you choose to pay a monthly subscription, you won’t have to worry too much about your partners’ choices since you can send unlimited surveys to unlimited partners.

  • I have not received the email that my partner took my survey. What can I do?

There may be two main reasons:
    1) Your partner didn't see or ignored the notification email from Self-Match. Please let your partner know that s/he should have gotten an email from Self-Match. If s/he can’t find it, ask your partner to look in the spam or junk folder and reroute it to the main inbox.
    2) Your partner didn’t want to take the survey. Well, there is nothing we can do to fix this issue. Our best advice: don’t bother about this partner; find a new one :)
If you believe it was a technical issue, please let us know via the Contact Form or by emailing us at support@self-match.com.

  • My picture is not showing right. How can I fix it?

The best format to upload your survey or profile photo is square, for example, 160X160 pixels or 1700X1700 pixels. Size doesn't really matter.

You can easily resize your photo by following these steps:

    1) Right-click on your photo and select Open with Paint.

    2) Under Select choose Rectangular Selection and mark the square around the face with the same number of pixels for width and length.

    3) Click Crop and save your image for an easy upload.

  • How do I create a survey?

You can start by clicking Things to Do in the menu on your Dashboard. Depending on what kind of survey you want to create, you can choose from one of the options available in the submenu. If you choose New Custom Survey, you will be taken to Self-Match Question Bank.
Please note that as a member, you can also choose questions from your Favorites (questions you previously stored). You can also search for specific questions by keyword.
Another way to start your survey is simply to go to Question Bank and start selecting your questions.

  • Can I save a survey?

Yes, you certainly can. If you are satisfied with the survey you have created and think you will use it again, you may click the Save button. Your survey will be saved in My Storage. You can choose whether you want to save your answers or not.

  • How do I add questions to Favorites? Where is Favorites?

Simply click the star in the right top corner of the question field. Confirm the message, the star will turn yellow, and the question will be added to your Favorites. You can find the My Favorite Questions link under My Storage in your Dashboard menu.

  • The Compatibility Report doesn’t have my partner’s picture. Why is that?

Your partner chose not to upload his/her picture in the survey. If you have your partner’s picture, you can upload it to your partner’s profile on your Dashboard.

  • How do I calculate my partner’s TrueMatch Score?

Actually, Self-Match calculates it for you. However, you have to do some work to help us. Click on TrueMatch Score Calculator button on the bottom of your Compatibility Report. You will see your partner’s responses to the survey questions. Choose if the response is Positive or Negative and rate it on the scale of 1 to 10 by clicking on the corresponding star. Each star will add one positive or negative point. The points will be combined in the total Positive and Negative score boxes at the bottom of the screen. Add information in the open field entries at the end of the survey and rate their importance. This will add more positive and negative points. When you are finished, click Calculate. TrueMatch Score will appear in your partner’s profile area on your Dashboard.

  • What is the purpose of open entries?

To give you a chance to add any observations that you have made or information that you have learned about your partner. For example, if you want to add the importance of your partner’s appearance in the TrueMatch Score, you can enter on the positive side She is beautiful or He makes good money and rate it as 10. Or you can add Can’t spell well as the negative and rate it as 3. It’s up to you what you enter and how you rate it. However, all this combined information will help you get a more valid TrueMatch Score for your partner.
